Comprehensive Health Services (CHS) is a frequent partner of the American Counseling Association with impeccable standards and superior people who are in the forefront of disaster mental health. Paige Valdiserri is highly experienced, has seen trauma and PTSD in Iraq first-hand, and has extensive credentials. CHS is seeking counselors to fulfill a government contract. This contract will help to improve disaster preparedness for mental health issues. Please see the description below and apply through Paige if and only if you meet the criteria! At this time, CHS is seeking ACA members as Disaster Mental Health Workers for our government contracts for any type of disaster in the continental United States.  Responsibilities Administer crisis intervention, supportive listening and responses, grounding techniques, education about disaster stress, debriefings of DMHS (disaster mental health specialist) On stand-by for deployment anywhere in the continental US Complete CHS's on-line CEU DMHS training program before deployment Complete the application and requirement process Qualifications And Requirements: ACA members who are certified as Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Volunteers Have a Masters or Doctoral degree in a mental health field Must give at least one week at a time per disaster Willing to handle shift work up to 12 hours at a time Maintain licensure and/or certification to practice independently in your state Maintain $1 million/$3 million in professional liability insurance Complete CHS's Online CEU DMHS (Disaster Mental Health Specialist) Training Program Previous disaster experience is a definite plus! Chemical Dependency Counseling

Washington State has a significant shortage of certified chemical dependency counselors.  One of the barriers associated with this is the lack of information on the availability of jobs and internships.  In response, the Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse (DASA), in partnership with the Washington State Alcohol and Drug Clearinghouse, has designed a Web site to assist employers and job seekers around the state.

Employers may post their counselor recruitment notices at no cost.  Individuals can now review position announcements and submit their resumes free of charge. 

This Web site is linked to the DASA Web site, other state agencies, colleges and universities for information on counselor requirements, school curriculums, tuition waiver information, and the current Revised Code of Washington and Washington Administrative Codes related to certification as a Chemical Dependency Professional.
