Chronic Verbal Abuse (and other forms of Emotional Abuse) injures self-esteem and is associated with reduced productivity, anxiety, depression, and dissociation. Subtle Verbal Abuse may be difficult to recognize and confront. Chronic Verbal Abuse is more than a relationship problem in that the abuser may have mental and/or health problems such as alcoholism or other drug dependency issues or a personality disorder like NPD or BPD.

General Practice Area: The new Seattle Therapy Alliance clinic will open in September; however, we are accepting applications now for a program in which forty women will be selected to receive weekly counseling for only $30 to $50 per session. Priority will be given to women who are willing to commit to a full year of therapy.
Seattle Therapy Alliance clinic consists of six female therapists dedicated to providing low-cost therapy for women in the Seattle area. Our staff offers depression counseling, anxiety counseling, and counseling for eating disorders--such as anorexia and bulimia--and body image issues. We deal with all kinds of relationship problems including dating, infidelity, separation, divorce, and establishing healthy boundaries. We also offer post-abortion mental health care and support counseling including work with post abortion syndrome (PAS). Women are disproportionately affected by physical and sexual abuse, economic instability and the weight of single parent families. There are very few places where women will get a break...this is one way we can help. We do not accept insurance and we do not provide services for free.
